Office Administrator / Marketing Assistant

Nagan Johnson and Uncommon are design-led practices with a close-knit team of architects and landscape architects working from their studio in Waterloo, London SE1.

What we are looking for

Our ideal Office Administrator will have a mature outlook and be able to work under their own initiative.  We are seeking a team player who is happy to help all members of our team if, and when required.  We would like you to have:

  •       a basic accounting understanding and an ability to handle monies efficiently;
  •       an interest in architecture and landscaping;
  •       strong written and verbal communication skills;
  •       good knowledge of MS Office;
  •       a love of dogs.

The role will entail

  •       Being the first point of contact for the practice;
  •       Overseeing the smooth running and tidiness of the office;
  •       Assisting in the maintenance of office and IT equipment, supplies and service;
  •       Intermediary between our PR company and the architectural staff;
  •       Marketing support for the directors and PR company;
  •       Assisting with the update of office and project files.

Salary - £28,000.

Part 1 Architectural Assistant

Nagan Johnson Architects is looking to appoint a Part 1 (or equivalent) architectural assistant to join their small team in SE1. The candidate must be a friendly all-rounder with good presentation skills, including hand drawing and model-making. You should be willing to work on a number of projects simultaneously, both taking a responsive and diligent approach and being able to work in a small team as well as independently. We are a busy practice and there will be the opportunity to work with responsibility on small projects through to completion.

We would like to see a small portfolio with some examples of your hand drawing, CAD detailing and wider interests. Please send a formal cover letter explaining why you would like the position, and your suitability for it. Candidates must have a good command of English and be available to work in the UK with no visa issues.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist project architects with project delivery
  • Making physical models
  • Making 3D CAD models & rendering.
  • Project admin.

Technical skills

  • Quick learner and ability to research creatively and independently
  • Good telephone manner
  • Software: Vectorworks 2D/ 3D, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office

Salary – In line with RIBA guidelines
