naganJohnson was formed in 1999 by architect Michael Johnson and interior designer Deborah Nagan. Their works to date include many residential schemes including refurbishments and extensions to houses in London and the rural areas surrounding, educational buildings and artists’ studios.
naganJohnson have a keen interest in using high quality materials that will ensure the longevity, quality, and integrity of the building well into the future. Finding new ways to use traditional materials and understanding how to detail them well embeds the building in the local context and ensures it is recognised as contemporary and not pastiche. naganJohnson design intelligent spaces in historic and physically challenging sites, both as new build and amendments to existing buildings.
naganJohnson is a small architectural practice forming a closely-knit team. This enables an efficient, solid grasp on design development and project coordination to be achieved as well as fostering friendly internal critique of work.
