Cubana

Cubana opened their second restaurant in Smithfield (the first on Lower Marsh is a Waterloo institution) in 2015. The Cuban themed bar and street food outlet took five years from inception to opening. The two main spaces are linked with a sliding glass roof.

Prior to starting on site, the landlord granted Nagan Johnson permission to open the Garden of Disorientation for the three weeks of the Chelsea Fringe Festival in the spring of 2012. It was like "a consignment of mint exploding from its pallets and starting to take control of a former meat packing warehouse – a challenge from the plant world to meat eaters."
