Lothrop Street

The notion behind the extension at Lothrop Street is to create a light and modern extension to a traditional two-story terrace house. The new extension includes a new kitchen and bathroom, but also frees more space in the existing dwelling to be utilised as living and dining space.

The design of the extension was to create natural lighting, functionality of the spaces and to create a close relationship with the garden. The angular design is derived from the idea of staggering the different zones in the building, maximising the use of a site, which is very compact and narrow.
