Viking House is a former Turkish bath in Margate with a disused basement area. There had been a retail unit on the ground floor but no connection to the lower level.

The ground floor gallery, Viking Gallery, was stripped and redecorated. Part of the floor was cut away to allow for a new staircase to be inserted, connecting the ground floor and basement exhibiting spaces.

The basement was brought back into use providing additional gallery space to Viking Gallery as well as a 3 bedroom apartment with external amenity space.

The model shows mock-ups of James Capper’s sculptures within the gallery and exhibited in the Turner Contemporary, Margate.
